online streaming FAQs

  • The best online streaming platform depends on what you’re looking for. For live TV and local channels, YouTube TV and DIRECTV are excellent cable TV streaming options.

  • YouTube TV is one of the best streaming services for live TV, offering over 100 channels including sports, news, and local networks. DIRECTV via Internet is another strong contender, especially if you’re looking for premium channels and sports packages, all without needing a satellite dish.

  • For many people, yes. Live streaming generally offers more flexibility, lower costs, and no long-term contracts. You can watch on multiple devices, record shows with cloud DVR, and cancel anytime. With a reliable internet connection, online cable streaming services can deliver the same (or better) content as cable, without the hardware or hidden fees.

  • Streaming TV gives you more control over how and where you watch. You can customize your channel lineup, watch on any device, and access cloud DVR features. There are often no contracts, and pricing is typically more transparent. Plus, you can bundle streaming services with high-speed internet from providers like Kinetic for added convenience.

  • Once your TV is in its desired location, follow these simple steps to connect your satellite dish to your TV in no time!

    1. Connect one end of the coaxial cable to the back of your satellite dish labeled “LNB”

    2. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to your satellite receiver in the port marked “Sat in”.

    3. Next, connect one end of the HDMI cable to the ‘output’ port in the back of the satellite.

    4. Plug the other end of the HDMI cable in to your TV (not your dish receiver). Most televisions have more than one HDMI port, so choose the one you prefer.

    5. Finally, turn on your TV and press the satellite button on your remote. If everything is connected correctly you should see a signal. If your signal seems weak, try re-positioning your satellite to get a better signal.

  • Streaming TV relies on a strong internet connection, so service interruptions or slower speeds can impact your experience. Some platforms may also lack specific channels or require multiple subscriptions to access all your favorites. And while there's no contract, costs can add up if you subscribe to too many services.
