Fast Forward Concord: Free Community Events
By Whitney Seely, Associate Director of Marketing
Concord, N.C., we've got something to celebrate with you.
Over the past year, we've added more than 7,800 new fiber locations around the greater Concord area (a jump of nearly 23%) and crossed 38,000 homes passed with Kinetic fiber. And we think that’s worth more than just a press release.
So, in honor of this milestone, we've got a packed schedule of community events that we’re calling Fast Forward Concord. Here's where you'll find us.
What's happening during Fast Forward week
Tuesday, Sept. 29—Volunteering at Sonshine Backpack Ministry: Our team is spending the day at St. John's Lutheran Church donating items and helping pack bags of supplies for kids facing food insecurity.
Wednesday, Sept. 30—Free tech course at the Kannapolis VFW Post 8989: From 10:30 – 11:15 a.m., we're hosting a free beginner session on technology, getting more out of your internet, and staying safe online. It's designed for anyone who wants a hands-on walkthrough in a friendly environment. All are welcome.
Friday, Oct. 2—Concord Fiber Night Lights: We'll be at the Central Cabarrus vs. Cox Mills high school football game with free swag, starting at 7 p.m. Come help us cheer on the home team, and don’t forget to grab your swag before it’s gone.
Saturday, Oct. 3—Concord International Festival: Find our booth in Downtown Concord from noon to 6 p.m. for family fun and free swag. It’s an unforgettable celebration of the cultures that make Concord such a vibrant community.
Why we're celebrating
More homes passed means more people in Concord who can take that remote work opportunity, log onto their online classroom, launch new business, or stay in touch with friends and family thousands of miles away.
We're still adding fiber locations across Concord, and we don’t have any plans to stop any time soon, but we didn’t want to let this milestone go unmarked. Concord is home for many of us too, and there’s nothing we want more than to celebrate this achievement with our neighbors.
So stop by and see us, at one event or all of them. But in the meantime, check Kinetic fiber availability at your address and start celebrating faster, more reliable internet now.
