Kinetic Pays It Forward in Broken Arrow
This July, Kinetic crossed a big milestone in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. More than 35,000 locations in the area now have access to our fast, reliable fiber internet. That's 35,000 homes with the chance to internet better with faster speeds and fewer outages, all at a better value.
But here at Kinetic, we know connections aren’t only about broadband, and just saying thanks to the community didn’t feel like enough. So we decided to show up in a big way, in person, all over town during the week of July 20 to express our thanks by rolling up our sleeves and getting to work.
Our team traded the office for coffee counters, gaming trailers, and a movie theater red carpet experience to give back to a community that many of us also call home.
Coffee, pizza, and community
Our first stop was Laurannae Coffee & Bakery, where the team bought coffee for the first 50 customers who walked through the door. The first person in line at 7 a.m. was local resident Yasmeen and her sweet family, who we had the pleasure of getting to know at multiple events throughout the week.
One moment summed up the whole spirit of the day. As a Kinetic employee was paying for his own coffee at the register, a customer he'd treated earlier rushed up and said, "You paid for my coffee. I'm going to pay for yours." Kindness is contagious, and when our efforts to give back inspire others to do the same, that’s the best outcome we can hope for. We're building trust, one cup of coffee at a time.
The generosity kept going at Uncle Vinny's Pizzeria, where the first 25 customers got $10 off their meal on us. The owners, longtime Kinetic customers, made the whole event feel like catching up with old friends, and we’re honored by how graciously they accepted us into the community.
Showing up where it matters
Some of the week's most meaningful moments happened away from the public eye. The team spent an evening loading up four shopping carts of donations for Broken Arrow Neighbors and the Griffin Promise Autism Clinic, everything from diapers and toiletries to school and craft supplies.
We helped stock the shelves of the Broken Arrow Neighbors’ client-choice pantry, where patrons can pick out the essentials they need, with dignity and compassion, instead of getting a prepacked box of goods.
At Griffin Promise, the team delivered a load of supplies that the clinic goes through constantly while caring for the children it serves. Both of these organizations do incredible work and rely so much on donations and volunteers from the community. If you have the opportunity to get involved, they would love your support.
Fun for the whole family
Broken Arrow also got a taste of what Kinetic fiber can do. At a gaming trailer parked in the historic Rose District, the team swapped out the trailer's usual satellite connection for Kinetic fiber so visitors could experience the difference for themselves. And our fiber did not disappoint.
Later that week, families packed the Regal Warren Theatre for a free VIP screening of Moana, complete with Kinetic branded photos and leis for every guest. Kinetic’s inaugural Lights, Fiber, Action Hollywood movie experience was a night filled with movie magic, and we loved seeing the joy on the faces of the kids and the adults.
Kinetic also showed up at two neighborhood HOA events with free ice cream and games like inflatable archery and axe throwing. The weather tested everyone’s limits, but the neighbors who did brave the heat had an afternoon of fun and sweet treats.
A little Broken Arrow magic
Some of the best parts of the week weren't on the schedule at all. While setting up in the Rose District, the team learned all about Dr. Clarence Oliver, known around town as "Mr. Broken Arrow." The next night, the city celebrated his 97th birthday by lighting the historic Opera House cupola he'd spent decades working to bring back downtown.
Hearing his story was just further proof that Broken Arrow is a community built by people who truly love where they live. It's easy to see why, and it's exactly the kind of place Kinetic is proud to keep investing in.
We’re not done in Broken Arrow
Not now, not ever! Fiber-connected communities tend to see real, lasting benefits, from stronger local businesses and higher home values to more reliable access for remote work, telehealth, and school.
Crossing our 35,000 homes passed milestone is worth celebrating, but we're not finished in Broken Arrow. More fiber is on the way, and in the meantime, we'll keep showing up where it counts — because it’s our home too.
